Hi Ladies:
I just wanted to share with you a good weight-loss tip that I read last Sunday and started doing on Monday after we weighed-in together. I increased my fiber intake from about 8 grams up to 35-40 and in just three days, I broke my plateau and lost three pounds! I have not gained them back and it is safe to do every day. I also have more energy. Maybe it's because I got rid of some toxins from my body with the fiber too! Get some fiber today. I like Fiber Choice (chewable tablets) and Wal-Mart has it for approx $8.00.
I also have increased my calcium intake (in hopes of keeping my fat storage down) but mainly to see if it will help prevent my horrible sweet cravings during my pms. I will be taking this on a trial basis until my monthly cycle starts and I will report the progress to you after April 10th (when I return from Chicago). I only increased it by taking 600 mg more a day. Since I eat low fat string cheese and low fat yogurt on a pretty regular basis, I didn't need to go up much more. However, if you are not eating low-fat dairy products, it was recommended by Diane in their article "The Big Fat on Calcium" to take up 1200mg of calcium a day (from food is always best) but not always the leanest way unless you stick to fat-free or low-fat. Don't forget to take your daily multi-vitamin.
Well, Shelley said after she weighed-in on Tuesday, "May the Biggest Loser Win".
Keep on losing and eating balanced and small meals!
We will see each other on April 15th to check our 4 week progress! If anyone reaches their goal while I'm in Chicago the week of April 1st to April 10th (you better not! You know I'm kidding) please contact Casey at the Curves in Fern Prairie. I will leave my scale there with her and you can stop by and weigh-in with her. Here's the catch, if you lose 10 pounds in four weeks (that's kind of fast!), you will have to wait and re-weigh again on May 15th with the entire group just to make sure that you kept it off and to win the "jack pot". I know that when it comes off that fast, it goes back up as fast as it came down! So be careful and stick to approx 1.5. lbs-2.5 lbs per week. Slow and steady wins the race!
Please e-mail me any questions or comments you may have. I wish you and me great success with this challenge because summer is right around the corner. We want to be ready for it!
Love you all,
Angie
